In college, my best friend and I became obsessed with fried mushrooms. Like…we went to this greek place in Stillwater and would only order their fried mushrooms. Then the next day, we’d go to a local bar and grille and order fried green beans, frozen lemonade
When I started eating paleo, I knew I’d miss my typical fried mushrooms! With the addition of my air fryer, I decided to give them a try. I hinted at the paleo air fryer fried mushrooms during day 2 of my Whole30 and I’m so glad I’m able to share these before the Super Bowl!
This is such a great and Super Bowl recipe and I guarantee you, if you make these for your friends and family, they’ll have NO idea they’re paleo. Oh, and personally, we thought they were even better dipped in ranch 😉 just a suggestion!
- 1 box mushrooms
- 1/2 cup tapioca flour
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1 tbsp old bay seasonins
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs beaten
-
Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees
-
While the air fryer is heating up, wash and cut the mushrooms into fourths.
-
Mix all of the dry ingredients together
-
Coat the mushrooms in the egg mixture, then in the almond/seasoning mixture. It’s best to use one hand for the egg and one hand for the almond flour.
-
Add the mushrooms to the air fryer and cook for 7 minutes, carefully tossing halfway through.
