So what’s the “big” announcement I’ve been teasing the past few days? Well as you can now see, MeganPaleo has blossomed into Second Heart Paleo. Since starting the MeganPaleo Instagram in June 2015, it’s continued to grow. It’s helped me grow, find new recipes and make new friends. It grew so much that in November of 2016, on a whim, I launched MeganPaleo the blog. I’ve loved blogging and being able to share more than a caption with y’all.
Lately, I’ve felt drawn to share my heart transplant story and be a voice for the transplant community. This is where Second Heart Paleo comes in. I want to be an inspiration for my readers and for transplant recipients. When I was being listed, at age 14, I did my fair share of googling about heart transplants. Honestly, I didn’t find many uplifting stories. Instead, I found a lot of scary information. I’m hoping by sharing my story, someone who’s just starting to do their google research, will find it.
While I’ll openly share my transplant journey with anyone who asks, it’s not something I’ve ever been able to put into words. I’m hoping that’ll change. I hope to share more about my journey, so others can learn about the transplant process and the importance of being an organ donor. I will still be sharing meal plans, recipes and all things paleo, but now I’ll also be sharing my transplant story and how paleo has helped me in my journey.
So what’s the future of MeganPaleo? Well, all my social media accounts have been renamed to Second Heart Paleo. Other than that, it’s still the same girl, with terrible pictures of appetizing food, posting and writing.

My blog (well this one) also started as an Instagram account just documenting by Whole 30 journey in 2015 and then in 2016 I created the website and dug into writing.

January 22, 2017 at 4:36 pmSo excited for you to share your transplant journey with everyone. As a mom, I could not find many inspirational stories and many were scary and very sad. I felt depressed just not knowing a happy outcome and the unknown. You have a beautiful story to share. The gift of life that has allowed you to do so much. A blessing to our family from a loving family that donated their daughters heart. I can’t wait to learn about more recipes so dad and I can work on our healthy eating. You have inspired us in so many ways. Love you 💗 Mom
